The Ernie 2020 Barossa Valley Single Vineyard Reserve Shiraz
The Ernie 2020 Barossa Valley Single Vineyard Reserve Shiraz
The Ernie Reserve Shiraz - crafted using the finest fruit parcels from our Bethany vineyard. A tribute to the legacy of Ernest 'Ernie' Auld, a pioneer in both cricket and the world of Australian wine.
Each year, only a handful of standout barrels are chosen for the reserve - every bottle a true expression of Bethany's unique terroir.
Excellent with slow-roasted lamb shoulder, chargrilled ribeye steak, or aged hard cheeses like Manchego or Parmigiano-Reggiano. Will cellar well for 10+ years. Available in single bottles, six-packs, and at select local retailers.

Deep crimson with deep a purple core.
-
Intense and layered with ripe fruit, dark plum, anise, and liquorice.
-
Rich and full-bodied, layered with ripe blackberry, black plum and mulberry. Secondary notes of dark chocolate, espresso and savoury spice provide complexity, supported by a plush yet structured mouthfeel. The finish is long and powerful, with balance maintained despite the 15% alcohol, thanks to the concentration of fruit.

Superb with slow-roasted lamb shoulder, chargrilled ribeye steak, or aged hard cheeses such as Manchego or Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Considered to be one of the great Barossa vintages. Consistent autumnal rain, paired with decent rainfall at the end of spring lead to optimal soil moisture throughout the summer. Cooler summer temperature contributed to vine health and perfectly set bunches. A rare high quality, high yield vintage with tonnages up by 111% on 2020.
