Our Home
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Barossa Valley’s historic Bethany region, Auld Family Wines crafts exceptional wines that capture the essence of Jock and Sam’s home state.
With sweeping views over the valley floor and across the Barossa Ranges, our Bethany Vineyard is a truly special place—one that captures the essence of the Barossa Valley.
Tucked into one of the region’s most picturesque pockets, Bethany is a hidden gem with a rich winemaking heritage. It's long been admired for its diverse and fertile soil profiles, which have helped shape some of the Barossa’s most expressive wines.
Our vineyard rolls gently across sun-drenched hills, surrounded by ancient gums and the deep red soils that have nurtured premium vines for generations. Among the treasures of our home block is the 65-year-old bush vine Grenache—sturdy, resilient, and full of character.

These vines, shaped by decades of sun and soil, are the beating heart of our vineyard and the source of our very first estate-grown wine: the 2024 Common Molly Barossa Valley Grenache. Sourced entirely from these historic vines, the wine shows remarkable depth of flavour and concentrated fruit—a true expression of Bethany’s unique terroir.
The vineyard is also home to the classic Barossa mix of Shiraz, Mataro, and Grenache. Our Shiraz, grown on its own roots from the celebrated 1654 clone, produces the rich, round, full-bodied wines that define the region.

We’ve just completed our second vintage on this remarkable site—a milestone for Auld Family Wines—and we’re excited to continue building on this foundation. In late 2025, we’ll be releasing two new estate-grown wines that further showcase the depth, diversity, and potential of our Bethany vineyard.
Each bottle tells a story, honouring the land’s rich heritage and adding a new chapter to our family’s storied legacy.
For us, Bethany isn’t just a vineyard—it’s our home. And this is just the beginning.
