William Patrick 2021 Barossa Valley Single Vineyard Shiraz Six Pack

William Patrick 2021 Barossa Valley Single Vineyard Shiraz Six Pack
Our flagship Shiraz pays homage to our great grandfather and Australian wine pioneer, William Patrick Auld.
In true Barossa style, the William Patrick pulls no punches. This moreish wine is made from carefully selected fruit and matured on French oak for a minimum of 12 months, producing a full-bodied, soft, thick-set, unapologetically warm-climate shiraz.
Following a sell-out 2018 vintage, we eagerly anticipate our 2021 release—considered to be one of the great Barossa vintages.
Set for release in mid-June, the William Patrick will be available in single bottles, six packs, and at select local retailers.

96 POINTS | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (2018 Vintage)
"Gracefully rich and complex, the enticing bouquet shows blackberry, vanillin oak, potpourri, mixed spice and mocha characters, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate offering multi-layered mouthfeel backed by loads of fine tannins. Superbly structured and plush with a persistent delicious finish."
93 POINTS | Dave Brookes, Halliday
“A single-vineyard shiraz offering, set in the traditional style, showing expressive, loose-knit plum and black berry fruits infused with baking spice, cedary oak, licorice, tobacco, polished leather, dark chocolate and earth. Full bodied, with a familiar 'old school' feel to the fruit flow and wood spice on the palate. Tannins, tight, fine and grainy, and a finish that lingers nicely with a wash of cedar, vanillin, spice and dark fruits.”
91 POINTS (Silver) | International Wine & Spirit Awards
“Dense plum, prune, and soft currant aromas. On the palate, generous plum crumble, and blackberries meld with sweet spice, showcasing intense yet balanced flavours. Long finish marked by vibrant blackberry acidity and well-structured tannins.”

Considered to be one of the great Barossa vintages. Consistent autumnal rain, paired with decent rainfall at the end of spring lead to optimal soil moisture throughout the summer. Cooler summer temperature contributed to vine health and perfectly set bunches. A rare high quality, high yield vintage with tonnages up by 111% on 2020.

The William Patrick Story
After being bundled onto a ship bound for Australia just two years after entering the world near Manchester in 1840, it is no wonder William Patrick Auld quickly developed a natural tendency to explore. The Auld family arrived at the Port of Adelaide on the good ship Fortitude in 1842 and by the mid ‘60s, WP had accompanied John McDouall Stuart on the first successful south-to-north crossing of Australian and joined BT Finniss’ expedition to select a site for the capital of the Northern Territory.
While he explored, his father Patrick was busy planting a vineyard on 400 acres of land in Magill on a property called Auldana, four miles from Adelaide. With the wanderlust out of his system, WP eventually returned to Adelaide and followed in his fathers footsteps, becoming a wine man and watching the vineyards of Auldana flourish. Never one to shy away from a challenge, William Patrick sold Auldana in 1888 and set up a wine and spirit merchant business in Gilbert Place which he named WP Auld & Sons.
In true Barossa style, the William Patrick Shiraz pulls no punches, paying homage to the daring and adventure shown by WP and the early generations of the Auld family.
